Hi all, need your help and some feedback on pricing for a GX.

White 2007 GX470 non-sport, non-KDSS with black interior and 97k miles. No accidents, no rust, southern vehicle.

Needs timing belt service and possibly a steering rack.

What is a good price for something like this? Is 13k appropriate including tax, tag, title etc?

Thank you

My opinion is that’s a good price. Black interior, low miles, and rust free are tough to find. Have you looked at the service history and Carfax?

thanks for the feedback. Yes, carfax checks out accident free and shows 2 previous owners. Local dealer has it listed for 13.9k. Would 11.5k be an unreasonable offer to start with?

I just bought a 2009 from a lexus dealer that is super clean. Entire life serviced at that dealer. Has 140k on it for $11,670 plus tax

Don't forget to confirm Lexus driver for service history. Pretty awesome tool to see the service of vehicles.

X2 on using the Lexus website for a VIN check on service history

however, although our Arizona GX had been serviced by the Lexus dealer it was bought from for everything from oil changes to tires until we bought it at 175K, it turns out to be the neediest vehicle we have ever had , so even a perfect service record is no guarantee - we still bring it to the same Lexus dealer :meh:

What kind of issues have you guys had?

my husband wrote all about it in post #30 of this thread: Your GX470, tell me about it.

here it is: The 178k lives in AZ, near Phoenix, but unfortunately outside. It has seen one 40-mile dirt road trip in two years, and gets driven about once a month when we're in AZ; no other off-pavement activities as we have other vehicles for that. It had one previous owner, with the car having been touched only by Lexus, including all oil changes as well. That one has needy/whiny b!tch syndrome: rear suspension airbags leaking; broken front strut (on the freeway, at an expansion joint that I didn't even notice while driving the '80 in front of the GX; strut broke right above the bottom mount); 3 dead batteries eventually traced back to corrosion at the ECU and resulting current draw draining the battery, eventually requiring ECU replacement; knock sensor replacement after some rodent damage (those wiring connectors apparently are particularly tasty ) leading to while-we're-in-there timing belt/water pump replacement (which, granted, was due soon anyways); more rodent damage leading to partial harness replacement (but now wrapped with the good anti-rodent harness wrap from Honda); sun roof drain tube fell off leading to rain in the cabin; and the power steering doesn't like it when it's really cold as we found out on a recent trip to Flagstaff. Current focus for combating ailments has shifted away from the GX and onto rodents...

13K out the door for a no rust, no accident, white GX with 97K? Offer what ever you want, the worst they can say is No, but 13 large sounds like a great deal! I think white is an awesome color on a GX, just be aware some peeps are having paint peeling issues with the white paint. Moreover, I may be wrong, but from what I read on the webs is that Lexus will only repaint the problem areas, if you can get them to cover it.

They're only repainting 08's and 09's...

At this point if they haven't peeled..."should" be ok right?

Interesting! that may explain why mine was repainted. Originally a 2006 White GX470, I bought it maroon red from a dealer, but was always curious why it it was repainted. Had a perfect Lexus service history with no mention, a clean carfax and I have yet to uncover any issue.

I think anywhere in the under $13k range for something with a clean history is a great one to grab. Just picked up my 05 for $9k @ 160,000 with a clean history- but realize that won’t be realistic for most.

Can you explain this more? I just bought an 09.... I'm the 3rd owner. Is there a fee for this paint job or just take it into a Lexus dealership? Thanks in advance!

You should have received a letter similar to those below from Lexus:
