Good places to camp in the Pisgah NF?

Does anyone know of good campsites in the Pisgah NF north of the Asheville area. I’m going to be going to the Black Mountain area in about a month with my girlfriend to visit some of her friends and family in the region, and I would like to find a good place for us to camp while we’re there.

Doing some google searching doesn’t turn up much past the typical state parks and private campgrounds.

There are a lot of free dispersed campsites along NC-105/Kistler "Highway" and on the other side of Linville Gorge down Table Rock Road. Other than that, I would check out iOverlander for some recommendations in other less trafficked areas. You should be able to get at least NC for free, which will cover you for Pisgah.
