Anyone know a good mechanic that can work on electrical issues. I have been chasing down a short for weeks on my 85 FJ60. I'm ready to pay someone else now.

Also try Lee Weatherby's Accurate Automotive, or Lindsays Auto. Lee is south of Broadway and just east of Country Club. Gary Lindsay is on Baseline near Mesa Drive. Both are general shops that have a specialty in Japanese. Both are rather good with Toyo and Honda. Lee is especially good with AC compressors. He can rebuild any AC unit.
I spent several years supplying parts and machine work to shops. In the process, I got to spend time in the back areas of these shops where they do business. I learned the ways in which they take care of things, and how honest each of them might be.
I was able to get to know the owners of both of these shops, and I can say that both of them are honest as far as I can know. They are decent and honest people in my book. Even from 100 miles away, I still deal with them. They have my trust from the view of an insider in the biz.
Anybody can take my advice. Some of you may not. But those who do may be better off.
I have worked with most of the auto shops in the area. These are the best Toyota shops in the area that I am aware of. There may be others, but i am not aware of Ihem.
