Hi all....I'm a newbie and need a little advice. I picked up a 1996 80 in Georgia last month. PO said right front fender was "tapped" and replaced but upon further inspection it's clear that there was more damage than "a tap" I took it to one body shop and they said they didn't even want to touch it. Mostly becasue they didn't want to go behind someone elses work and I think they probably do mostly insurance claims. Problem is the drivers side door hinge is pulling away from the body because it was bent and the bolts stripped. So I need to take it to someone to get this thing fixed so I don't get water leaking in. The good news is mechanically speaking I don't think it's in too bad a shape and the mileage is relatively low.

Someone recommended Autoshape in RTP and that is really close to where I work. Has anyone dealt with them or are there any other shops people can recommend.

I had some body work done on my 01 Ford Ranger a few years back, and the insurance referred me to True-to-Form (Chain) Body shops. They did a great job.

There's also a place off Illagenes Rd. off S.Saunders/401/Fayetteville Rd. that I've dealt with, also good work, but also with the Ranger. I'd have to get the name of the shop though...

High point is a little far for me to go...hoping to stay local.

I'll steer clear of auto shape...too bad it's really close but I don't need to be raked over the coals again.

I'll check out true to form....They were refered by a mechanic that looked at my cruiser as well.

Any other shops I should consider?
