I took the kids up to play in the snow today. Nice solid 2-3" crust over sugar snow. All was good until it was time to leave. We broke through the crust and sank in to 12-14" of TG sugar. IH8TG! Thank god for a good shovel and lockers. The kids got a kick out of driving backwards with all wheels churning for traction.:steer:

I have always wondered, does you blood actually flow in those tempratures? Or do you need an axilliary pump...:hhmm:

Shovel for 4 hours and you can get just about anything to flow.

41 below last night without the wind chill a little north of us. Only -35 or so for us.

My kids get on the bus about 2 blocks away from the house. The little punks (9 & 11) are outside playing in the snow for a half hour before the bus comes. It was almost -30 and they could care less. I even watch them out the window when it's this cold, but it's like they don't have sensors that tell them "Holy S**T it's cold out here.

No question these are dangerous temps though if you weren't prepared for it. There have already been a few people killed this winter from the cold. Some always get stranded and have a light jacket, no cell phone, dress shoes, and a baseball cap. Go figure.

I don't even leave the house(we're a little off the beaten path out here, but not much) without boots, gloves, hats, facemasks, propane Cat heater and a couple of propane bottles, blanket, etc stored in my drawers.

So in answer to your question, yes it flows, but only til it freezes solid. Which today would only take a few minutes if you're not dressed for it. :)

Our kids doctor explained this to me. She said "we are old and our plumbing doesn't work as well as thiers."

Must be a technicle thing...:hillbilly:

I can remember wearing only a t shirt to move a tractor around the lot of a place I used to work. Probably 15-20 minutes in sub zero cold and didn't think anything of it. I was 20 something at the time. Now, I wear long underwear to go get the mail. But luckily, "the plumbing" still works like it should :)

Hehehe The human body can take a lot... In 1910-ish, 3 crazy men headed off into the antarctic night and lived in a tent for 5 weeks with temps averaging in the -50's to -70's all for the sake of a penguin egg.... I'm sure it did permanent damage, but it didn't kill them.....
