Hey, All.

My Land Cruiser was hit in the middle of the night Friday night. It was parked on the street right in front of my house, and whoever hit it didn't leave any information but took all the broken parts.

Keep your eyes out for a white car with the front driver side all messed up!

I'm going to need a new bumper, and before I start shopping I wanted to see if anyone was looking to get rid of one. I really like the look of the 4x4labs and Slee Short Bus bumpers, but am open.

I'm trying to figure out how to keep my total cost on this down just because I was planning on putting in my lift next month, and this expense is coming out of my lift budget. I don't want to wait too much longer to lift it. :)

I do. I went with it because of the diy kit and a group buy. $600 for the kit. $300 to get it welded up locally. Saved $3-400.

A friend of a friend, I don't think he's looking for more work. Sailor of heliarc design might be up for the task. Come to the bbq this Saturday, you can see the bumper and likely see if Sailor is up to the task.

Damn that makes a fella mad that people do that kind of stuff and don't leave a note. Bummer. If everyone is busy and you have a hard time finding someone to weld up a bumper let me know and I could probably help.

Have you contacted your insurance? They should write you a check of the cost to return it to stock. You can take that money and apply it to any bumper of your choice. Most of the time it's pretty close to the cost many aftermarket bumpers.

Unfortunately, I didn't have full coverage on the rig, so unless there's an "at fault" party, there isn't anything my insurance can do. I've added full coverage now.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm super bummed and more pissed about the fact that whoever did it, was aware enough to clean up after it, but not leave a note. I'd even be happy with, "sorry I hit your car." Oh well.

If I go with either the 4x4labs or the NWTrails (leaning towards the NWTrails right now), I'll definitely let you know!

That sucks. But it looks like the damage is mostly limited to the bumper which is great news for you. Still sucks! My advice is to save up and get exactly what you want.

Damn, that sucks. Yeah, when I moved out here I put full coverage on my 60 due to all the road hazards... elk, deer, moose, icy roads, other crazy ass drivers. Good luck and look forward to seeing what you go with.

I have a stock one you can come look at if you need to save money. It'll be cheap ;)

I might take you up on that. Though, this does seem like a good time/excuse to get the aftermarket bumper :)
This is a good offer. Put the stock one on and take your time and get/build. Exactly what you want. Lots of good options depending on what you want. Slee and 4x4 labs are well known and proven. Buy there are others. bump it off road stuff is amazing as well. A used ARB for a good price still gets the job done. I love my old out dated TJM becouse it is aluminum and keeps the weight down. Lots of options!
