Sorry - that term escapes me (been a long day) but if I use a wire wheel to clean up my toyota bolts and nuts for a restoration, if I go over to my local auto parts store is there a rattle -can version of the goldish prep stuff so the hardware will not surface rust?

I guess I could just use clear coat, but I'd rather have that neat-o stock goldish look.

Again - I apologize for the stupid question.

I've never found one.
I just take all my bolts to a plater in town. For 3 gallons of bolts it's pretty cheap (maybe $50). That's a couple of trucks worth of bolts.

To get started I went to a junkyard and just pulled common Toyota bolts off of what they had. That gave me enough of a stock to replace bolts, and then those got tossed into the plating bucket. When it got full enough, it went to the platers too.

Best part about it is that the platers can dip them in acid and get them much cleaner than I could without a LOT of labor.

Very smart Dan. I'm gonna have to hit the wreckers now. :D
