As stated.. planning to go pick this rig up tomorrow late morning/afternoon, im allegedly first in line. looking for someone who;

A. has seen this truck around Tucson or knows any history/the owner etc.

B. If theres anyone in Tucson who would be willing to look it over with or for me before i drive 4 hours round trip.

Ive had a few cruisers in the past including a 60. Kinda have a basket case on my hands at the moment and looking to pick up something I can daily with easy repairs needed for a while... ive had enough of $1000 repairs for a while.

Buying a vehicle that is close to 28 years old is the best option for avoiding $1,000 repair costs. I would take a close look around the inside fender wells. Notice it does not have any mudflaps. Mine still has mudflaps and it's older. It also has less than half the miles but wouldn't say that is a guarantee of avoiding high repair costs. It does look like some has spend some money on the interior. Not my cup of tea. But at the price you wouldn't be the one taking the loss.

Did you run the Carfax on it? look for salvage or odometer discrepancies - those are very hard to resell later when its time to move on.

Also, the auto trans in those units are notorious for slipping/failure. If it has never been rebuilt, I would be very carefull and drive it both cold and hot to make sure no trans issues.

hope it works out ~
