When I traded in my 2016 LC (manual rear lift gate) for a 2021 LC/HE I had the dealership transfer, or attempt to transfer, my aftermarket mods including my GOBI ladder. But they couldn't install the ladder on the new model with the automatic lift gate. In the models with automatic lift gates there is interference with the placement of the mounting bracket for the bottom of the ladder due to the additional sensors in that lift gate. So, without doing adequate research I ordered a new ladder that is specifically for the automatic lift gate models. Ordered in May.

waiting ... waiting ... waiting ...

Finally it arrived near the end of September and I took it to the dealership to install. And learned that GOBI had sent me the wrong ladder. They had sent me (another) ladder for the manual lift gate even though my order confirmation clearly specified the automatic lift gate model.

Called GOBI customer support. They were great. Acknowledged the problem on their end and told me they would send me what I needed immediately. No waiting this time. Apparently the ONLY difference is for the bottom mounting plate and they happened to have one in stock. See the difference? The one on the bottom is for the automatic lift gates. The bolt on the newer one are slightly closer together and the pressure strip is two short pieces instead of one long one. (Yes, this means that I possibly didn't need to buy a whole new ladder, just a different mounting plate. I have not gone back to their site to confirm this.).

So if you are moving to a later model LC and you already have a GOBI ladder, see if you can get just the mounting plate. It should save you time and money.

So, yes, if you don't have a GOBI ladder and want one, I have a slightly used GOBI ladder to sell. $250 and you won't need to wait 5 months like I did. And if you would like I can include 2 mounting brackets in the non-liftgate version! ;-)
