Parts run to the powder coater.

I love the 3.70 gears and split case. Smooth sailing

The guy that told me about my OddBall80 has become a good friend and is a fellow collector of old stuff.

He fixes old axes and hatchets for his friends and has had my grandfathers double head axe for about a year as it soaked in oil.

He told me it was ready and asked that I drive over one day and see his shop and stuff one say.

Today was the day and I left early so I could take as much gravel as time allowed

First small town is Thomastown and then a quick duck under the Natchez Trace Parkway before I ran it out of gas trying to find the range of this new fuel system

Lunch was a quick affair with the fill up. The Goat seems to get around 12 mpg....

Turned 95,555.5 at 55 along Hwy 16

Stocking up on my 89NOlder Mural Monday shots

200 miles later I get to his farm and check out all the goodies and grab the axe.

I took the more direct route home and made it just as it got dark. 8 hours in the 45 and about 400 Miles is quite plenty even for a small guy like me

FJ45 Seat Modification

All week after my long trip in the Goat I’ve been considering getting a more comfortable seat setup.

I did a little searching in the forum and there was mention of raising the front of the seat.

I found a good height. Easy enough. Yeah it felt better but the way the seat frame is designed it would not recline enough to enjoy the benefit of the raised front.

I busted out the band saw and fixed that. Added spacers to the front and BOOM. Comfort.

Im so glad I tried this first without tossing the baby out with the bath water. Took me about 30 minutes total.

The back reclines further now but the frame gap isn’t closed in the last pic? Is the back resting on the cab? Sorry, I’m obviously confused.

I moved it back in the slider right before that pic all the way. I run it one click forward of that position and the gap is closed. Basically I can move it now from a reclined back if I click two forward and more upright if I go full backwards.

Make sense? Options.

I think I see, you get more recline now with less leg room, or you can get more leg room with a more vertical back with the back against the cab. Got it 😆.

I‘d like to get more leg room but I’d have to go a lot more vertical. Fixed top issue.

Raising the seat to gain leg room is a great mod. I am going to copy your homework. I had not thought about that.

I have been thinking about cutting an inch of foam from the rear seat back.

I took the seat foam out when I recovered. It was the angle that was killing me

No snow angle?

😆 and it’s getting help from a toyota forkee
