The wife and I purchased this burgundy 100 back in September to assist in our big move to the PNW and then be her daily from then on out. A few weeks afterwards we had the following done on it:

battery
timing belt
water pump
driver side cv axle
rear axel seals
heater t's
drain/re-fill or replace all fluids
leather seat cleaning and conditioning

In late October we hit the road for a 2,700 mile trip to Oregon towing a (mostly) empty 14' dump trailer. To save weight I took the spare tire out from underneath and rear jump seats and placed them in a sturdier 3/4-ton Ford truck that was towing a completely loaded dumpster trailer #2 - hillbilly style. For the Landcruiser I used a weight distribution hitch to help cope with the ride and all the stuff we loaded into the interior of the LC. The empty dump trailer is roughly around 4,100 lbs empty but is long and rough enough that the weight distribution kit was worth its weight in gold. For a brake controller I rolled the dice and went with the Curt bluetooth controller rather than pay for a bunch of labor to wire up a connection (a trailer plug-in kit was already wired into place yet I was unable to find a spot to attach a brake controller harness :(). Me and a buddy hopped in the vehicles and left on a Wednesday at 10 AM local time and were at our new home in Oregon before midnight local time on Friday... we did it in 3 days somehow. After the trip my respect for the LC (and the Ford) grew a TON - especially considering how rough some of the miles were. Thought I would share!

Great looking Cruiser, always liked that color. How many miles are on it?

That trailer looks like overkill and is heavy as hell - what were you carrying in it? Any estimate of total trail + contents weight?

Cruisers are workhorses, I'd have no issue jumping in mine with 215K miles and driving around the country.

Very nice! Glad to see that the LC did its duty and then some. Is that MPG right on the scangauge?!
And how did you like the Curt Bluetooth brake controller?

Thanks! The LC is at about 231k miles at this point. The two dump trailers are part of a business we own that was also moving with us to our new home in OR and so played a (big) role in transporting our personal items out there. We sold most of our furniture/big items beforehand and the rest we boxed up, wrapped/waterproofed and strapped down under the tarp of the trailer being pulled by the Ford. I would guess the full trailer probably had about 5k lbs of material in it so around 9-10k lbs total trailer weight and contents.

The ScanGauge I believe was fairly accurate but the readout is for instant MPGs and I was either coasting or driving downhill in that photo. Average fuel economy was predictably terrible. Worst tank was around 175 miles, I think best was close to 210 miles or so. The Curt bluetooth brake controller was returned as soon as we completed our trip 😆. It worked in a pinch but it would constantly lose connectivity (it would still send power to the brakes when it cut out as the unit is able to resort to last saved settings) and I wouldn't be able to use the manual assist (which was literally a button in the app and I used it a lot) until the connection was restored. For my purposes it did what it needed to on this trip but if I was hauling more weight I would prefer a hard-wired controller for peace of mind - just my thoughts.
