I bought a Yamaha efis 1000 blue whisper bgenny last week and its been running rough and even stalled once.
The engine kind of misses and get worse as it gets hotter.

I took it back today and they have taken it away for a look but the company thats distributes them (not Yamaha) reckon it could just be new and needs to be loaded up for a while.
By loaded up they mean run with high revs.
Anyone heard that one before?

I also bought a CF50 Waeco fridge at the same time and its back at the dealer because it wont run on 12V,works fine on 240v.
So I spent the whole monday morning running around with dead or dying appliances and I was hoping to go away tomorrow:mad:

That sucks, I hate it when the joy of a new toy is ruined.. I haven't heard about the "loaded up" part before. The manual of my Honda generator stated some hours for break in then the oil has to be changed.. I'd try to get a refund and then buy a Honda EU1000i generator and a 40 litre engel/arb fridge :grinpimp:

I cant get a refund ,however both companies have guaranteed me satisfaction and I cant ask for more than that.

On aussie forums there are Honda vs Yamaha and Waeco vs Engal threads (wars)
I believe when its like that then the products are pretty even.

I didnt look at the Honda generators but the Engal uses a Honda and a similar generator but its not as quiet as the Honda.

The Yamaha and Honda are both 56 dBA. The Engals was 57dBA which is unbelievably louder

FYI: I have had the Waeco 50L for 18-months. Have thousands of miles of off-road use and it has been great. I too was looking at the Yamaha 1000w generator...a little lighter than the Honda, larger fill neck, longer run time on low rpm...and good ratings. Interested in hearing your experience after they make it right.

I have an Engel and a Honda generator. There is NO WAY that my engel is louder than the Honda. How can an electric swing motor be louder than a 4cycle combusion motor is astounding! I wonder what model of engel is being used for this noise comparison?
