I've been looking for a OEM generator. el jefe was gracious enough to give me a generator. (btw his 40 10 digits earlier than mine, cool). I didn't think it was a toyota since it had reman on it but it has some tell tale toyota markings like the little flip up oil vents (or whatever they are) like on the starter. I have an autolite generator in my 64 and the belt doesn't quite line up :(

so is this a toyota generator? If not can you post some pics of early generators.

Does anyone have a spare generator for sale...

Many thanks to you 25 guys :grinpimp:

Hum.. I'll have to find one other pic i have off a 45 pickup. it doesn't look like the above either and I was pretty sure that was stock(why i took the pic)

Cool, thanks Mike. I figured I'd start a thread on this after talking to you last night. I didn't see anything down here on generators. Who did the reman on yours?

If you need a core let me know, but you can probably come up with a much cleaner one out there. I think Marv had some very good ones fjrom fire engines not too expensive. There's a bunch of different pulley and fan setups, the cast one was original for the 25.

I'll check with marv... Old stuff is still kinda rare esp something like a generator that people will toss for a alt somehere in it's 40 year life..

I wasn't super actively looking but more I was keeping my eyes and ears open for one. I think i'm starting to look more actively now though..

Here is a pic on a 64 fj45.. I think it's oem.

That Delco will work just fine until you find the correct one. ;)

Four of my rigs have generators Wes. Do you want to take one of mine?

Sure, That's really nice of you :D

hehehe... If you want to. Fox was telling me about the double and single pulley and I don't think we've had a good generator thread yet :grinpimp:

alright... here is the generator I picked up. It's off a 63 fj40.

Looks like you've got a winner there! Clean it up, check the brushes, I bet it works. :)

What's this meter thing, I thought the charge light should go out. Must be one of this inventions our 25s didn't get.

I was thinking the same thing...........either the bulb is burnt out, or it must be charging.

I'll put the light in if anyone has one...

my poor generator :(

Ok, my turn. the generator that I fried over the summer still isnt fixed. After getting the armaturer fixed and new bearings installed, it turns out that the field coils are bad as well. They couldnt be tested until the armature was in working order. So, I'm looking for a generator core with good field coils. Also, anyone have the numbers on the Denso tag?

Here is mine.:)
