General A/C question

I've done a reasonable amount of work, but borrowed a set of gauges.

A friends Saturn A/C slowly died and is not working. I hook up the quick charge gun, reads about 15 PSI. Not high enough for the system to allow the compressor to engage.

I add some R134, compressor engages, I'm thinking all is well, continue to charge up to almost 50 psi on the low side of the system.

Air never gets cold, and took very little R134 to reach 50 psi low side pressure.

I'm thinking compressor is shot, am I right?

i would check both your high and low pressures, make sure its not overfilled either!
