Does anyone have an easy fix for the bubbles, or do I need a new bezel?

You'll need a new one, plus you have to cut and splice wires in the shift knob in order to get it off.

I thought mine was the only one with this issue. Can you expand a little ^^?

This is a PITA to replace. I bought an OEM new one and it seemed to scratch super easily! Disappointing.

You can pop the pins on the ends of the wires out of the wiring harness without cutting the wires. Mine wasn't as bad as yours, but I peeled off the area that was bubbling, taped off the gear letters and rattle-canned the underside black. It's not perfect, but looks much better. The little ovals where the indicator shows were a pain to tape.

Thanks for the input and advice everyone, greatly appreciated.

I would like to buy a new one if it is plug and play easy to install, but sounds like that is not the case. What price does this part go for?

I will keep everyone posted with results once I tackle this. I am hoping to have some time in June, this month is just too busy.

Looks like the part number is 35921-60180 and they have them for ~$100 at cruiserparts.net and toyotaonlineparts.com. It's not that bad to install.

Kind of like applying window tint to get the bubbles out. Heat it a bit with a hair dryer then use the edge of a credit card and push the bubbles on the clear cover to the sides.

I replaced mine about 6 months ago. Whatever you do don't listen to the "cut and splice wire" advice. You do not need to do this. It just takes a little time but always approach these things with "they didn't build it this way assuming it would never be replaced." I bought the piece you are talking about along with the black sliding strip that follows the gear shift forward and aft. There are two wires that run from the shift knob. Those wires each have a metal terminal and those terminals plug into a plastic connector. You need to stick a metal pick into the connector to trigger the release that holds each wire in that connector. Once those wires are free, you can remove the shift knob. It does not matter which wire goes into which side of the connector when reassembling but mark one if you feel better about putting it back exactly as it came from the factory. This repair is one of those that takes a little time but is not difficult. It's one of those repairs that once you know how it's done, you could do it again in 1/3 the time but hopefully you won't have to ever do it again.
