Is there a skid plate on the bottom, or how thick is the AL on the bottom plate. Clearance looks good, but I'd still want a buffer between the tank and rocks and such.
I have a question... I have read a few of the subtank threads and everyone seems to have a not-so-easy time finding the parts to complete an aux tank set up. i completely understand why someone would want a complete setup in their rig, so I am not here to argue that... But, does anyone just put the tank with the filler in and use the tank as just a big ass jerry can? Use an easy siphon or something to transfer fuel when needed? Im just thinking that to set up the sub tank to OEM standards is going to cost a lot more time and money than just transferring the fuel itself. I know that you won't be able to keep exact track of how much fuel you have left in it, but that's what a good ol' knock on the tank is for
So far I have 8 interested people. I have sourced 10 tanks. I am going to Colombia in early May. If you guys are serious enough then I would require a 50% deposit to secure your tank. I will only bring back what has a deposit on it due to space limitations on the container. I will not start taking anyone's money until I have exact dates. So PM me if you wanna secure your tank.
I guess it should be a more general question. Are the tanks designed to work with the 80 series dual filler neck? If so, where are people sourcing the dual filler neck from to do this install?
