Ok, so I have a brand new OEM tank sitting on the floor of the garage. The old tank had NO tie-down straps for it. I looked it up at the Spector site and they don't show any straps either. Any suggestions from anyone?
I haven't had any problems with the poly tank moving around or the old steel tank either.

Its a 74, the tank sits in a hole under the Pass. seat and has a steel cover that goes over it. There isn't much room for it to move around, maybe an inch or two.

Yea, I'll give that a try!

(Ken, still have your strap, One of these days I'll get it to you.)

Hey, glad to help out when I can. I'm here for ya.

We need to make a trail run together again sometime. I'll bring spare spring pins this time. ;)

If it has the metal cover then it didn't have straps from Toyota. I won't get too crazy trying to hold it in there. Would definitely NOT use spray foam or anything else that will hold water next to the tank.

I also recommend painting the stock tank with real paint. The "nice" paint they have on there really doesn't do much for rust protection. My nice new OEM tank didn't last more than a couple years before it started to rust.

I've given the tank one coat of paint, when I find the time it will get another. Been pretty busy with other stuff.
