I have a 77 FJ40 the manual fuel pump went out on it 100 miles from home, i just happened to have a 7 psi max holley electric red one in back for another project so i put it on (cable ties, speaker wire, lol) just to get me home. So now i want to keep it on, what do i do with all the extra lines "on" the tank? Cap them? Which ones? I've heard that if not properly done will cause excess pressure in the tank and possibly a leak. It has a holley 350 carb. on 2F and is recently desmogged so all lines, canister, return line, etc.are still attached to tank but not carb. I looked around before i posted and didn't find a post/thread with this info. Thanks A.C. (newb):meh:

you will probably be fine but it wouldn't hurt to put a pressure regulator on it and maybe turn it down to about 3 to 4 psi. dont know about holley's but Weber carbs like around 3 psi. and i would only cap off the return line. the PO of mine did this with a bolt and chunk of hose and a clamp. i have since put it back the right way because of fuel injection. your tank still has the charcoal canister line and you can just alow that to vent to the atmosphere. or going with a vented gas cap is an option too.

Thanks i'm just trying to unclutter everything under the hood, all the electrics have already been removed with D.U.I. dist. Downey recommends using 7 psi for the holley, i was hoping to also remove the stuff "on" the tank (the three hoses that make the funky loop into the little plastic thingy by the filler) thanks again...
Oh so it was you on the grassy knoll....MERRY CHRISTMAS

yeah that was me  no i was born about that time and always have been a conspiracy theory guy and a gun nut. i would keep the fuel vapor separater (plastic thing) the previous owner of mine (PO) just cut the line from it down at the frame and let it vent to the atmosphere. wich will work but once in a while you smell gas fumes but not very bad when and if you do. it just allows the tank to vent. and you could just cap off the return line at the tank barb fitting so you dont have the line going up into the engine bay. hope i have been of some help and yes merry chrismas to you and yours.

Yep i too am a freak for the strange things that have happened in the USA thus "LETS ROLL" (Todd Beemer said "lets roll" and took the cockpit over on 911 and downed the plane in penn.), i was born and raised in DFW metroplex, had too many guns and nothing to shoot so i moved to the boondocks where the nearest town is 15 miles and population 400, i'm on 250 acres with deer, hogs, fish, plenty of fresh air and enough tight trails to peel the chrome off anything and ruin a good paintjob. Thanks for the helpful info and have a safe and happy holiday season......A.C.
