Need advice on how to fix gas smell coming from my 1978 FJ40. I don’t see any leaks but Ivhave to leave my garage door open because the smell of gas is so bad. Any idea what the issue may be? It doesn’t have a charcoal canister, would this make a difference? Appreciate any advice on where to begin. Thanks.

I tied it up underneath but it did drip gas out. Not sure if I can cap it off without causing an issue.
There appear to be no clamp imprints on the hose, so probably was cut off(looks like recently)--There is a vent hose that routes into the psgr side frame from the tank--this is maybe it??

Bottom of tank is rotted, pull it, it’s easy, and will sort out all the hose questions and give you a chance to save the floor hopefully. Careful with filler neck hose if it’s good, if not they are hard to find , I found a marine hose with a 90 in it and cut it, bit of a waste but works. I got a new metal tank from mudrak.
