i have an 87 fj60 that i recently did a 3fe swap into . the first few times i filled the tank i would smell gas inside. it whent away as the fuel level droped so i thought it might be leaking around the filler neck somewhere since all that was out to swap the 62 gas tank in. yesterday i filled the tank and did not drive it today. when i came home i could see fuel running down the side under the fuel door. there is a large puddle on the ground and i have lost about a 1/4 tank. seems to be comeing from around the cap. sorry for being long winded but im freaking out here. i need help that was a lot of money i just poured on the ground

Did you do the swap, or at least have good access to the person(s) that did? You have some questions for them.

Your tank should be venting to the charcoal canister. Either something didn't make the jump to 3FE properly, or it's all hooked up to a clogged canister, or bad VSV. If it was hooked up fully, then just switch the two hoses on the top of the canister, venting the tank at all times.
.

i did the swap i had a rusted out 62 with a bad trans and pretty good 60 with a bad motor . tried to put everything in as it had come out but you know that goes. ill try swaping the lines around and see what happens .if something is cloged where do i start?

Great idea to make 2 onto one.
As far as where to start, I've not done the swap, and have no 60 to compare notes with. If everything seems to be hooked up as you'd expect, then something's plugged. Time to break out the shop air and blast some psi down and back up the various hoses. Start from the canister hose that comes up from the chassis/firewall area. You just might here bubbling in the tank, or rushing out the open gas cap (leave the cap off as you could spray yourself from the highly pressurized tank if that hose isn't blocked) Pull the right side panel inside the cargo area off, and see if having access there helps.
I'm lost from here out, someone else wanna pick up the baton?
