We decided at our last club meeting we would add the GA Traverse for our campout/ride for March.

Plan is to peel out Friday around 10-11am and head to Dalton, GA area and run the Traverse West to East this time to eliminate going through ATL traffic. Should give us a good amount of time on the trail Friday to find a good campsite. Heading back home Sunday.

Roll call...

1. Cole @Bama4door
2. Clarence @booradley
3. Brent @girupb
4. Stephen @Forerunner
5. Ryan @thebroverlander
6. Rosh @BamaBreeze

Bumping this...

We're going to start on the very western part of the Traverse and head East Friday. Should be a good time and weather is showing AM showers over the weekend. Hopefully it will be decent weather for us.

What time are we leaving?

Dianne is thinking she wants to go. She has never slept outside so . . .

A group from Southern Georgia, including myself, are planning to do a similar run sometime in May. I would appreciate a "post ride" report if you're willing.
Thanks,

@Gun Runner 5 Charles, we started at Little River Canyon outside of Fort Payne, AL and then made our way to the western start point of the GA Traverse. We camped just Southwest of Dalton, GA Friday night and then Saturday we pushed towards the Cohutta Wilderness. We did the big loop in the pic below, which crosses over into TN as well. We were on the trail from around 10am until 6pm (that loop is a lot bigger than it looks) and ended up camping on the southern part of the loop past Jacks River Campground. The loop was a perfect trip for a weekend. To do the whole GT, you definitely need 3-4 solid days IMO.
