This listing is for an earlier screw in speedometer. I think this is a 71/72 model. However it is always hard to determine the exact manufacture dates of these early 70s speedometers. The style changed a few times in the early 70s.

That said this will fit any year 40 with a screw in speedometer cable which would be all through the 60s up to 73. And it is the only early speedometer where the odometer numbers roll from top to bottom. <- Useless speedometer trivia alert -> All other early odometers roll from bottom to top.

It is NOS ish as I said. I can say for sure that it has never been in a vehicle also confirmed by the guy I bought it from. However I think that it sat out in the open for several decades the original face was all scratched up and it was very dusty dirty. I cleaned it all up and put a good face on it so it looks much better. And will function like brand new.

If you have a speedometer that is on its last leg this is a great find.

$250 shipped.

This still availible? Mine is wonky as all getout and only the tenths of a mile still rolls on nthe mileage. I'll pull my cluster and see if its the right attachment (1970 FJ40) but i think this may solve my problem. I'll still have to sort out the calibration as I have the 5-speed in there now, but thats a story for a different day.

Also, you still refurb clusters?

Cheers:beer:

Hello

Yes I still have this speedometer. And if you have a stock 1970 cluster you should be able to swap it out. I can fix you old speedometer if it is just the odometer. However, if the needle is bouncing around it probably is on its last leg.

I do refurbish/repair clusters. Let me know what you think it needs or send a pic or 2.

Thanks
Jack
