I have play in a rear u joint. I purchased two Toyota I joints from dealer. Do I replace both on the rear drive shaft. What about the front drive shaft. Should I have bought four? When you accelerate from stop, I feel one seems to take second to lock. Is that the rear or front? No vibrations of any kind though truck resides smooth. Thanks guys.

Replace the U-joints in pairs on each driveshaft. I would replace all four as if there are one or more that have failed the others have endured the same conditions and lack of lubrication. U-joints don't lock or unlock. As you are seeing they can develop play which will cause vibration and noises. You may have worn/stripped drive flanges on the front axle where slippage occurs followed by the viscous coupler locking up. If you lock the center diff and the symptoms are gone then drive flange(s) need replacement. Search as there is a lot of information documenting this issue.
