Can anyone comment / or see if your truck looks the same?
1997 FZJ80.

Should this rubber hose with the clamp be higher up? Should it cover the barb that you can see? Or is that the way it is supposed to be. Sometimes it looks like there is fluid seeping through that space.

Sure looks like a hose barb and the hose sure looks like it should be over that. That being said, my hose isn't much higher but I definitely cant see that barb.

That's where it's supposed to be. That's just a low pressure line, so I doubt it's leaking from there.

There's still an inch of barb inside that hose. The ridge is where the hose is supposed to stop. There is literally no slack in that line. If you follow it down to the metal pipe that attaches it to the power steering pump you will see what I'm talking about. Even if you wanted to push it up further, you couldn't (if it's the OEM hose).

I've got the same fluid weep but my hose sits a little higher over the barb. The PO put a hose clamp on it and it still looks a little wet.

Of your horse are original, they are probably hard as a rock. They don't seal well when they are old. We have replaced them on a ton of rigs.

If your hoses are hard, replace them. Otherwise, that leak is coming DOWN from the top. The top seal of the reservoir is leaking. Do a search on "power steering reservoir" and look at what one member did to reseal his. I recently replaced ALL my hoses and saw this leaking spot and was upset until I figured out that mine is leaking at the top as well. It's not coming out the cap, it's coming out where the domed top meets the straight sidewall of the reservoir.
