I assume this bolt goes into the oil pump?
Seems like I have a leak coming from this bolt. Cover gasket has already been done, can I just tighten it up?

Wash that entire area off (above, below, sides) then watch closely (above, below, sides) and take new photos to see where the leak reappears.

Might help to post up photos taken from a bit further back (from above and from the sides) from the location shown above also.

Thats rare place to leak. I have seen oil leak from distributor where it joins the head which is directly above this area. Get some break kleen and rags and clean/drythe area as suggested, including any other oil stained areas above, then check to see where leaks originate.

The bottom of the distributer is clean, I wiped this area and cleaned it after doing the front seal and oil pump cover seal. Which leads me to believe it may be this bolt? What is that bolt?

Better IMHO to wash that entire area off, run the engine/drive it until the leak shows back up (then post up more photos) only way for us to help. Leaks could be from the timing chain cover itself, between the timing chain cover and upper oil pan, or ----. Unless someone has messed with that bolt in the past it shouldn't be leaking as it's got a copper gasket installed at the factory. There's an oil pump relief valve, spring, and copper gasket behind the bolt (see diagram)>

That’s your pump pressure relief valve. Like kernel stated that’s not a common issue unless it’s been mucked with.

Is it oil or power steering fluid? The reservoir is right above this area as well.

^^^Good Point^^^

Is that a replacement power steering hose in the background??

Has any work been done on the PS system?

Losing PS fluid??

I agree is unlikely to leak, unless it's been fiddled with.

If you really want to mess about with it, there's no black magic behind it, just s few small parts crush to the life of your engine.

You could clean it off, carefully remove it, replace the copper washer and reinstall it all.

I'd exhaust other possibilities first.

Yes, I rebuilt the PS pump, changed the high pressure hose and reservoir hoses. Ill give it another clean and continue to drove it. Id rather not mess with that bolt.

When installing the new hoses, did you use a new dual crush washer for the high pressure union (banjo bolt)? That is one potential source of a PS leak if the crush washer wasn't replaced. Or the small O-ring on the suction pipe bolted to the side of the PS pump. Then of course if the large O-ring on the engine end (front) of the PS pump got cut during installation, that would leak engine oil.

Yes I order the REIN off of rock auto and it came with both washers. For the O ring, are you referring to the oil pump cover gasket?

Was referring to the small O-ring that slides onto the suction port pipe that's bolted to the side of the pump and the large O-ring that seals between
the pump and the engine where the pump is bolted into the engine.

Either way IMO the only thing to do is wash that entire are off well then run the engine for just a few minutes, shut it down, then start looking for where the leak first appears. May need to take many photos from top, bottom, front, rear, and sides of the engine and PS pump in that area, then study those photos closely.
