Been fixing some gremlins slowly and have come to a horn issue......one that doesn’t honk!!! I removed the horn cover on the steering wheel and have now power coming in to the connectors.

I have 12v power and a good fuse at the fuse box. I‘ve chased the wire up through the the steering column with there still being 12v power. I removed steering wheel and the plastic cover behind it that is mounted to the steering column. There is 12v power to the blue and white wire when tested at the soldered point but that is where it seems to stop. The little metal probe( on the rear of the plastic cover that contacts the ring on the back of the steering wheel does not have power to it.

any thoughts to what part I need to look at replacing to get this thing to go beep again?

Saw this post just now. Take off your steering wheel [center nut in second photo above]. This should [if similar to a bj73] expose a plate and contact points. Search here for details on replacing horn contacts - it's a $20 kit. Use some graphite lube to prevent squeaking on the rubbing surfaces and allow for electrical contact. The contacts get worn down over years of rubbing and simply don't connect anymore.
