FZJ73 A/C Control Backlighting (1 Viewer)

Do the 70 series have bulbs/lights behind AC controls to light them up at night.? I was gonna ask before I started pulling the dash out which luckily is a really simple process.

If it is bulbed, any idea which size and type ?

Thanks for the info.... I’ve seen some videos where the Heater/AC faceplate is removed and the bulb is accessed from the front. Others show removing the control unit and accessing the bulb from the rear.

any idea for the best way to get to the bulb on our model trucks?

Well.... simple fix. I removed the knobs, the trim piece around the control, and then the control face. Inside was a clear plastic cover to help transfer the light through out the unit. I used a Sylvania #74 bulb and re-used the green bulb cover. I also used some aluminum foil and cut out a backing to help reflect the light even more.

works pretty good and now I can adjust the temperature at night without running off the road !!!!!!
