If wheels from a 40 will fit it, I've got a set of rollers... :p

I might be interested in going with you guys to the junkyard to find a taurus fan and shroud. I'll let you know soon...

Brian, let me know if you go that route I actually have the wiring harness you will need to install the automatic temp on/off solenoid.

Figured this is on here. I saw it on Craigslist and I'm suppossed to go up and see it today. It is only a couple miles down the road. I was looking for a registered mini truck for a diesel engine swap but saw this was close by.

He said the title has been salvaged but said he could try to get it back.

Sold the aluminum wheels for scrap money. I'll let you all know this evening and I take some pictures.

Just called them and left a message..... I had just been toying with the idea of a diesel swap dd with this thing.
Hope it goes smoothly for you.

He has a pretty strong accent. Almost hard to understand. Sounds like he owns a junkyard or scraps metal. I'm not really sure.

He mentioned the thing might even run..who knows. I couldn't imagine someone selling off the wheels just for aluminum money when you have a whole car.

Have you not seen the dilapidated trailers with Escalades in the driveway around here? Nothing would amaze me at this point. Remind me to tell you about the experience we had looking at an 80 in Clayton a few weeks back

 R

Do tell

Al - Jason and I road up there this morning to check things out. The pickup I was looking at was 2 wheel so no go for the p/w steering. The 80 they have is the same color as yours but is missing the driver side front panel. Engine is gone, front axle is gone. Rear axle is still there and some other parts too. Let me know if there was something particular you were looking for and I'll see if I can remember if it's still there.

Kinda a wasted trip but the place was pretty nice and had a ton of cars.

saw this 80 this am.....

No driver fender
no front axle
no motor
no wheels/tires
all control arms slightly bent
no driver side doors
1/3 of swithces pulled
all panels and flares dented/destroyed

tranny is there
rear axle and internals there
rear drive shaft
sunroof is there
visors check

I wouldnt want to crawl under any one of them to wrench the way they have em balanced on wheels though.

Man you drive fast!! must be the lingering AUDI driver in you ;) j/k

I will say it was a little odd.... almost club like experience. Got to pay to get in the door, then you get your hand stamped, and in the end I walked away with nothing to show for it :D

So i'm guessing all the a/c parts are gone aswell as the ps pump??
Why the hell the one fender I need missing

was the interior intact and the same color as mine??

I guess if anything I could get the rear shafts for spares.

was the steering box still there??

Was the CDL switch there I have a charlotte member who asked me to get it for him.

antena still there??

I'm still most likely going because I told my buddy we would look for some parts for his explorer.

Why the hell the one fender I need missing  Probably dented anyways :D Looked like the car was rolled on it's side and took a pretty good hit underneath as the tank was smashed and factory skid plate was bent backwards toward the front of the vehicle.

was the interior intact and the same color as mine?? Intact would be pushing it. Parts are there. I think the driver seat was gone but the passenger and 2nd row were there. Most of the trim peices were there too. Not sure what color your's is.

I guess if anything I could get the rear shafts for spares. That's what J and I were thinking.

was the steering box still there?? I think so cause J made the comment about an 80 series p/w conversion for the 40.

Was the CDL switch there I have a charlotte member who asked me to get it for him. No it had been picked. The antenna switches were there for someone that wanted to use them as in cab winch controls.

antena still there?? Can't remember

The passenger fender was there but had some damage. Only light I saw on it was the front passenger headlight and it looked ok.

You comming out on Sunday Brian??

When I first went to a Pull-A-Part, I was really freaked out, because I didn't realize they had the stacked wheels welded. I thought they just had one rim sitting on top of another as a 'jack stand'.
