I'm not close enough to take advantage of it, but a search of the Pull-A-Part website shows a '92 80 at the Winston-Salem location.

hmmm....... I might take a trip up there sometime

Actually i'm going to hit it up next sunday, thanks for the tip.... been there two months but hopefully it hasn't been killed off yet.... got a few things I need.... like an A/C and I think i'll pick up some spares while i'm there.

I may take you up on that in the future. I was even kicking around the idea of running up there with you on Sunday, but I scratched the idea. We've got our house listed for sale, and no garage, so all swaps and fab work take place in the driveway. I cannot chop up my 60 and have bits all over the place and have people come over and look at the place. I would like to hoard them, but I've got all available storage chock full of Cruiser parts right now. Good luck with the wrenching, and I hope it's got tons of stuff left on it. Pull-A-Part is hilariously cheap.

So do I... I plan on pulling the birfs and rear shafts for trail spares..... but what I really need is the ac and radiator overflow tank right now

Hmm...I've got quite a list of things I wouldn't mind grabbing off a junkyard 80. When are you planning on heading up there on Sunday?

Early as I can.... I'll be driving up with a buddy that is looking for parts on his explorer
My list so far of things i'll be needed are
All things concerning A/C (on the wifes orders)
Coolant overflow tank
Alternator (spare)
Birfs and rear shafts (spares)
Battery Box
If the color is right a fender (drivers side)

I'm sure i'm forgetting something though

I might meet you there...don't need anything for the 80 but I'm trying to find a cheap mini tuck power steering setup for the 40.

I'm going to call them today and see if they have what I need.

I wouldn't bother calling them it is all automated.... I called to try to find out if they take cards or if i'm going to have to head up with a big wad of cash but I could never find out.

Their website lists the vehicles that they have there. I'd say that would be your best bet

Don't forget guys that there should still be an 80 at Wagner's in Durham (55 and I-40). I took the sunroof out of it 8 months ago

Both the Pull-A-Part here in Columbia, SC, and the one in Augusta, GA take credit cards, so I would assume the Winston-Salem location does also.

From Allen's post in For Sale:

Supposedly Wagner's Auto Salvage here in Durham has one off of a '96 for $100. Jackson Auto Salvage in Raleigh has one off of an LX450 for $150.
Wagner's Auto Salvage - (919) 544-1729
Jackson Auto Salvage - (800) 222-9721

Like I mentioned I pulled the sunroof out back in the fall. From what I remember it was two tone green/grey. I think it had damage on the driver's side.

FYI, Just saw this on Craigslist:

1991 Toyota Landcruiser

Don't know anything about it, but for $400 it's probably cheaper than going to Pull-A-Part. All it needs is a set of wheels to push it onto a trailer. :) Plus, it's near Jason, so maybe he could help with a pre-inspection...

Thanks for the find Clint
But to get it i'd need to buy some roller wheels and tires
Rent a truck to tow it
Rent a trailer to tow it
Somehow hide the vehicle that I am ripping apart in the garage from Andrea

If wheels from a 40 will fit it, I've got a set of rollers... :p

I might be interested in going with you guys to the junkyard to find a taurus fan and shroud. I'll let you know soon...

40 wheels would likely fit depending on the backspacing since the early 80s were 15". Without seeing the 80, it seems like a heck of a deal for $400. At least for the parts... I spent half that on my sunroof.
