After a 2 year hiatus from going to Memorial Day, I'm heading up there this year.

Why????????? This is the only legal opportunity you have to run the property south of town. You remember? 3 Stage, Rock Creek, Snake Pit, Purple Headed Monster, Timberline, Lost Creek?

Trails that I learned how to wheel on (yeah, they didn't teach me very well)

It should be a big time. FWD President Mark Chambers has promised a good time for all, and has made a deal with the Devil to get sun shiny weather all weekend. No rain!!!

There shouldn't be any chance of running the same trail twice all weekend as they have 3 different properties to choose from plus the WMA (Busline/Surveyline), Crum Creek/The Caves, Yanish and Alien Landing.

Lodging is iffy at the moment in Clayton, but there's plenty of camping around Clayton. And if you are willing to drive in from Talihina, last I checked they had rooms available there.

Beforewarned though. Different from years in the past, FWD has leases on all three properties for the weekend, and you will not be able to wheel there without a FWD Armband issued at the event site. They will be strictly inforcing this year. You will be asked to leave, nicely the first time. Not so nicely the second time.

Find me at the event and I'll let you buy me a beer.
