I just bought an 06 LX470 that has the intermittent no start problem, so I want to replace the fuse box. I'm having a hard time finding a new one. Does anybody have a supplier I can check. And, is the fuse box for the Land Cruiser the same ?

Thanks

Have you read through this thread?

I have, including the rather heated exchange about it. It seems like replacing the fuse box is the better fix, but I will use the workaround if I have to. This LX470 is one owner dealer maintained and is like new. I'd like to keep it as good as it can be.

I've compared the diagrams for the LX470 and the LC100. They seem to be the same. I found a new one at a Toyota dealer. I'll post it if it turns out they aren't the same.

Thanks, he doesn't say what year it came out of but I think that's from an older model. They changed in 2003. For $300 more I have a new one coming from a Toyota dealer so I'll stick with that and keep my fingers crossed the same fuse box fits the LC100 and the LX470. I'm pretty sure it does.

You might want to do some more troubleshooting because fuse box is not a common cause of intermittent no start problem for 2006 model.
I'm going to be more comfortable replacing it but I've read your threads and I know you have a lot of experience with this. What do you recommend ? The previous owner took it to the dealer that had always serviced it, they did 3k worth of work including cleaning the fuel tank and never found it. He gave up on it and that's how I was able to buy it.

I would focus on battery cables connection, fuel pressure and signals, i.e. crank/cam position sensor and their harnesses, MAF ......

No start condition, now no comm with Techstream, 2002 LC100

No Start or long crank by @2001LC

Fuse box test in post #117.
Thanks, I had read two of those but I'll go through again. I just bought the vehicle so I haven't experienced the problem myself yet. Looking at the dealer service records, this happened three times in 6 months. They tested or replaced almost every possible system. After all that, it happened again and he wanted to sell. I suppose I'll just have to wait for it to happen again. I thought I'd at least eliminate one possibility right away.

It is possible that it is a fuse box issue, just not common.
That's what I figured but this vehicle is in such amazing shape I don't mind putting some money in it to eliminate possibilities. Thanks for your input, the first time it happens again I'm sure I'll be knocking on your door.
