2000 Tacoma

Hey Nate,

Everyone seems to be raving about how awesome of a job you do all over the internet when I do searches on Repair/Service Manuals for my 2000 Tacoma (4WD, Ext. cab, etc.). I was wondering if you could do one for my 2000 Tacoma? I would really appreciate it. I've done a ton to it. For instance, I put a solid front axle on it (Dana), and a 6" lift. But, I'm tired of paying so much when I know I could do a lot of stuff myself, especially with the big stuff out of the way.

Thanks,
Ben

Hey Nate, I'm way new to this site, forum, thread, etc. And am still learning how it all works. But, I need a service repair manual for a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 Ext. cab, and everyone all over the internet says you're the only way to go. Because, I guess due to the wealth of info you get once you download from TIS it gets hard to organize it. If you could add my truck to your list I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!
-Ben

Nate, thanks for the great work.
I don't know if you're still adding vehicles to the list, but if you are I would love a repair manual for a 1996 Rav4.
Thanks again,
Aaron

Awesome work!! Thanks for doing this for the community :) If possible can you also do 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo? 6spd if that matters.

Thanks once again

Was it ever answered if this can be done with an apple computer??

I need to know!

Thanks
Kent

It should be possible, but I don't have an apple computer to test on.

Also, I got another email from my host. They seem most unhappy again...

I am in need of hosting in order for this project to continue....

Here's how (at least a start) to get Nate's files to work in Mac OS X. The screenshots here are an example using Nate's 2006 RAV4 NCF files under Mac OS X 10.4.9.

0. See #4 in EricG's post on the previous page first to deal with a problem that will happen in most cases. Echoing EricG's solution, the only solution to this that I know of would be to manually edit the batch file by opening it with a text editor like TextEdit. Searching for instances of ").txt" can speed up the process since the parentheses seem to only be at the end of the filename. I'm sure there's some kind of text processing method to add in the quotes. I left out steps 1-3 in EricG's instructions and all seems well. No need for ";" at the end of each line. Somebody speak up if this isn't the case.

1. If you haven't already, follow Nate's instructions to get the cookie info and place it in the cookies.txt file.

2. Install wget (I got it from http://www.merenbach.com/?page_id=17).

3a. If you are very familiar with the Terminal, simply execute the begin_download.bat file as a script. Skip steps 3b-4.

3b. For the inexperienced, open up Terminal (the Terminal app is in the Utilities folder of the Applications folder on your main hard drive volume). Type "cd " (without the quotes, and make sure you add that space), then drag the FOLDER named "Downloader" that contains the begin_download.bat file into the Terminal window. Your cursor should become a triangle with a white '+' inside a green circle, which somehow isn't shown here.

Let go of the mouse button, and this automagically types in the file's path. Now press Return to change your path to the folder containing the begin_download.bat file.

4. Type "./begin_download.bat" (without the quotes), press Return again and watch it go!

If the process is done and it gives some kind of error on the last few lines, it probably means you missed escaping a special character somewhere in the batch file.

Hope this helps out all the Mac users out there. Thanks Nate!

Haha! Called my host and smoothed things out.

I think we may be back in business! :D:D:D

I think somebody on the last page offered to host the files for you....

First, I wanted to thank you for this!!! Worked like a charm for my LC docs and couldn't have been easier.

Second, are you still creating new packages? If so, could I get one made for a 1997 ES300?

Hi, this worked like a charm for my 95 FZJ, but I have an old 81 corolla and was wondering if you could get that for me. Thanks

JF

Hey Nate,
Like everyone else, thanks for all the hard work. I have no idea how you do it, nor do I think I really want to know:) That could only cause more problems than good I'm sure.

I just started the process and I'm still having trouble after the DOS screen runs, but it looks like a firewall/pop up blocker/Spyware filter type issue according to previous posters? When my 14 month old quits hitting me in the shins while I type, I should be able to start over from scratch.

I make it to FL at least once a year. If you ever need anything from up north, just let me know. I have no idea what that could be, but it's about the only somewhat useful thing I could think of to offer for all your help. Thanks again.

Brian,

Make sure you got the cookies.txt part correct. If you are sure that is done right, next time open up a dos prompt and cd to the folder where all the downloader files are... then type:
begin_download.bat > output.txt

Then copy and paste some of whats in the new file output.txt to here and we'll be able to diagnose better.

Maybe you could just take the kids for a week? I'm sure I could finiish it up then?:)

I don't consider myself too much of an idiot when it comes to computers. I'm on the thing 24 hours a day, but some of these simple, superbly laid out directions, always mess with me. Not your fault at all. Just need some peace and quiet and maybe a cold beer to clear my head. If you ever need anything, happy to help.

I remember your current college life all too well. Have to say it was fun, but I don't miss all the papers/projects/library time, etc. Graduate, get a job you love, and live your life for all you can. And go play in the mud whenever possible. Thanks again.

Nate,
I'm now with the masses of successful downloaders.

I had saved my first attempt in one folder, then the rest when I went back I put in a new folder. Everytime I tried to extract, I was pulling from the old version that I had screwed up somehow. The rest were there the whole time, just in a different folder. We're good to go now. Thanks once again.

How about a 2005 Prius?

Nate,

Like everyone else has already declared, thank you. I have successfully paid for and download manuals for my Landcruisers, but I am now in the need for the manuals for a 2005 Prius.

Best regards,

2004 Sienna

So that you can learn me to fish instead of feeding me:
I need the 2004 Sienna, could I just get the file you have for the 2006, and rename all the 2006 -> 2004? Should get about everything?

Ron

Hi Nate, I'm not sure if the files for my 2000 Corolla were ever posted, or I over looked them. If you can get me the links for those, that would be great!
Thanks much for the help
