Anyone happen to know....
If I were to vent my fuel tank into the intake manifold, would this cause any issue???
Seems like it should be okay, but...

An intake port will pull vacuum, not good.
Go junkyard and get a charcoal can, run vent to it and than run a hose to a barbed fitting somewhere on your air intake tubing.
My tanks are just vented to a highpoint with a rollover valve.

There was a near new charcoal can laying on the ground right near the FJ60 I saw at P&P Friday.

Wouldn't that be sort of the same thing only with a canister involved??

maybe not the best solution but my tank vents to atmosphere... From that line that feeds the yota charcoal canister that is no longer in the truck. I've run some vaccum hose or fuel line or whatever I had and ran it over to the fender weel area.

That was my original plan, till I thought about the fact that I'll be running both bikini top and soft top. So when the soft top is on, that'll be venting right into the cab. Then I thought about just plumbing it into the engine bay, but I'm not sure about how bad the fumes will be in reality.
I guess you would wanna run that line high for that reason???

No, the intake will pull vacuum behind the throttle body, on the front side it will be less otherwise you would have no throttle control. It might get close to equal at WOT.

I think the fumes question is a non issue regarding the smell. I've never smelled any fumes. The best old school solution would be some type of filter where it could vent but not take on water. So far over the last two years or so...I simply have a hose that runs over from the hard line at the firewall to the fender well area.

So yours is vented into the firewall as well and you don't have the fumes???

So venting it into the air intake duct before the throttle body?

I did something like ELBERT, but now I have fumes from the gas cap. I had to change the OEM non vented cap to the opposite, and smell fumes from it and still looking for an answer ?

Yup. There will be just a little vacuum there to pull out the fumes, but not enough to fight against the fuel pump. Use a check valve to keep air from circulating.

no...

there is a hard line that use to connect to the charcoal canister at the firewall....its the fuel tank vent line. I connected long hose to it and then ran the hose over into the fenderwell area... no fumes for me.

I don't care for venting fuel tank to air cleaner but thats just me...not likeing the idea of a backfire through the carb or back through the throttle body.

Been driving like that for 2 years or so. Its not a DD though..but I've never smelled gas fumes under the hood or in the cab.

Stil... Not quite getting it... So NO charcoal canister. You removed that, and ran a soft line out to the fender well?
Am I getting that right???

Btw, that is also a concern with venting into the engine bay is a spark plug wire chaffing and arcing.

yes...charcoal canister has been removed... (i have a V-8 swap)...simple softe line connects to the hard line at the firewall then it runs over to the fender well area and is just open on the end. Probally 5 to 6 foot in length as mine runs up to the front drivers side fender well area. I guess its more inside the fender ...not in the engine compartment itself.

I'm pretty sure that is a bad idea, the vent needs to vent, both directions to keep the tank at atmosphere. :)

My friend has his intake(not manifold) plumbed to run the vent to it, but doesn't have it hooked up yet, so, I can't comment if the fumes do anything waky to the A-F mixture that them computer can't compensate for. I(we) think it will be fine.

On my intake manifold, there is an unused port off the PS with a barb that would be stupid easy to connect to. However, the intake duct would be the next easiest thing to do on this. All I'd have to do is drill in a bulk head fitting. I was concerned with the intake for the reason it would pull a vacuum, bit it certainly would be nice.
