Hi guys,
For reason rEason when putting on the new carb I’m getting a lean at the like to carb fitting. It’s the nut on the fuel line side, this has happened before but I got lucky and it went away by shoving it on there. How can you get this fuel line nut ti secure?
I heard it’s a special kind of nut or something.

I have little working experience with this, but, do you have the “olive” that goes in there? There is one listed on the parts diagram. Part #96395-71400

I can't see in there at all angle is what. that's probably what it i thoughts.

I got it "almost" sealed tnight. but stil leaking ever so slightly. I tried moving the nut back the best I could, but here is a bend that's keeping it from seating further back, is what it feels like.
The olive not reaching the end of the fitting is my best guest to why its not working, or something is bent in there. Didn't leak as far as I know on the last carb, but could have been ever so slightly trickling just like now....

The other options is getting it even tighter but im already past wrist tight...........torque spec?I have a crows foot I can throw on...
Has to be some special trick otherwise.

This thread has proven helpful for part numbers if i need them btw...: Gas line into carburetor leak - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/gas-line-into-carburetor-leak.1217408/

Good morning Dan .........

below is a kit-form-parts-kit i have have dabbling with for a while now ....

i saw your tech. thread here a realized i had actually finished and completed it last year some time and then other more pressing matters must have lost it for me till this morning :D ......

these are all the exact parts you need , and a spare copper crush ring , spare brass olive in your case , spare hex tube compression nut too but my unique Outside the Teq-Box of Trix i posses here at the Laboratory also make this latest pipe dream into reality , apply to a 2F with a Return Fuel Line application Carb. and also the earlier single Hard line from Pump to Carb witch both use 2 compressions nuts , 2 olives etc .........

so ......

the short copper M8 JIS hose bib tube i hand-crafted here below is for instructional and self empowerment via T-TEN educational puropses only to help folks further understand the big picture and order of assembly etc .

same exactly exact like the
TAN 2F Engine paper print media FSM i forced upon you was the first and greatest asset for you and your FJ60 a few years back when we linked up here in tech .....

i think one might call this a " Exploded View " perhaps ........?

so ........

i have only one words of wisdom here , you either go at this and correctly install all the parts in my kit-form-kit , or you do not install any of them ......

i can clearly see your super sparky here the carb side union , its older non-update aluminum crush ring have bee on and off more then a few times , and we know what the Black Diamonds mean in the FSM regarding non-reusable parts they are next to like crush rings and gaskets seals etc....

same goes for the brass olive on your hard line here

reusing any mating female & male threads when one or the other is compromised like the male carb side fitting is a big No here as you well know .....

PETROL based Gasoline and your FJ60 Fully Transistorized Ignition System really like each other a-lot if by chance they ever meet up and get even close to up close and personal .....

hope this helps .......

PM me if you have any further questions .. :wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench:

kindly
matt

Hi Matt,
Not seeing a product listed here! can you link?

How much for it? can you link me?

you said this: "have only one words of wisdom here , you either go at this and correctly install all the parts in my kit-form-kit , or you do not install any of them ......"

I have no tools to do anything special with the install". Is this plug and play or do i have to install the olive?

Dan

the Brass Olive simply slides over your existing steel M8 fuel line

no special SST 's required , qty x two 14mm open end wrenches , 1 to hold the double threaded union steady in-place once you install it with a 14mm Deep 6-pt socket , then the 2nd open end wrench , you carefully but concisely snug-down the Line Side compression nut to seal the NEW brass olive sides to each inner side of the nut and union

make sense Dan ...... :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :wrench: :)

Using existing M8 fuel line?
I thought what you sent me was a brand new fuel line kit.

Also, got a price for me?

Thanks, Dan

He doesn’t have a kit for sale. He’s just showing you what the parts look like, that you’re missing, to help you in your search for a solution to your leak.
