So I got gas a while back and after pulling the fuel door release latch the latch did not return to its normal position. It seems like it is stuck at "half pull". The fuel door does not latch shut now. Do I need to replace the cable or is there an easy fix?

I had the same thing happen a few months back, I just sprayed some penetrating oil inside the latch and worked it a few times, haven't had a problem since then.

If you take off the DS rear panel you will see the latch that works the door. I had this problem a couple months ago. My cable had rubbed the protective coating under the rear scuff plate causing my cable to rust. So I ended up having to replace it.

good call. it looks like the last time I put my jumper cables back, things were a little too snug in that area. Everything is operational now. Thanks

Gotta love a cheap, and easy fix. Glad it worked out.
