fuel cell ?'s

I have been searching and trying to find answers and pics without much luck, so maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
I have an 94 fzj80 fuel tank that i am going to put into my 40 along with the 4.5 fzj80 engine but the tank wont work because of the size.
Can i buy a fuel cell and cut the top so that the stock fuel pump/sender will work in it? Or am i gonna be better off fabbing up a custom fuel cell? If i'm better off making my own, does anyone have link to a good build up of one?

I've seen cells modded like you mentioned.. just pull the pump/sender assebly and see what you're working with!
