I have a 1985 Fj60 with 2f. i just put a new fuel pump on and it ran fine for a few days untill i noticed that the fuel pump was leaking out of the hole on the side down near the bottom of the pump. Two questions: What is the little hole on the side of the fuel pump? And why do i have fuel pumping out of the little hole??? thanks jason

There is a diaphragm inside there that moves back and forth. The hole probably lets air in and out on the "non-gas" side of the diaphragm. It's also a weep hole that lets you know when the pump diaphragm has a hole in it because fuel will leak out the hole. So you probably have a busted diaphragm.

When you installed the pump did you also install the spacer that goes between the pump and the block? It's called an "insulator" in the schematic below. The one I purchased from toyota had the gaskets attached.

Or maybe bad gaskets?

Did you apply a sealant?
