Looking to sell or trade my 1980 FJ40, need something a bit more family friendly.

Very nice original truck, original paint under hood, the rest was resprayed at some point. The body and frame on this one are very solid. There are a few spots of rust that will need attention, but they are very minor. I have pics. The rockers, floors, frame, etc. are extremely nice.

Recently passed inspection, and appears to retain all orginal EGR parts, including the original exhaust, which is pretty ragged at this point. It really is an nice original example, and runs very well. Carb rebuilt and new fuel pump this month.

Working Vintage AC installed as well as a Tuffy console. Seats have been redone and covered with some Wet Okole seat covers. Herdtop and all doors in great shape with zero rust.

This is a great rig to use as a daily driver, or weekend cruiser. Aside from the respray, it really has the feel of a survivor truck.

Link to phototream. Took pics of all rust. Rust is isolated to these areas, and there is still metal to work with under all spots, so it will be must easier to address than having to put in any patch panels. I was tempted to hit these areas with a wire brush and prime them, but figured it best to leave it as is so the next owner can address as they see fit. Check all areas again for bondo and there are no hack / patch jobs. The rear 5-6" of the bed appears to have replacement metal welded in, but there is no evidence of over use of bondo here... you can see the welds in the pics.

for that price I would like to know what it looked like before respray.
compression numbers.
clutch replacement.
underside pics showing no leaks/drips
front axle service.
brakes.
pics with doors and top installed.
what do the front floor boards look like under the mat?

obviously someone put some work into this. But they sprayed over rust on the bottom side, there is uneven body work on the panles there is bubbling paint and rust coming through. Some of the patch work welds dont look very good... all that said I could be interested in trading my 80 for this.

FYI this truck is no longer for sale. I'm here in Austin too, and I made plans to go look at it Saturday evening. He called me 2 hours before I was supposed to be over there to tell me he sold the truck. Oh well.
