Hey Ya'll,

Sellin' my sweet 1988 FJ62, the conversion was professionally completed by Steve's Off-Road in Soddy Daisy, TN. Steve and Jeremy did a fantastic job on this truck. I have driven it daily for 13,500 miles, long trips into TN ,AL and NC, round town. Worst case MPG has been 20MPG best case with pump turned down was 30MPG. Pump at proper setting, the truck avg. 24MPG. No issues turn the key and go.

I bought the FJ62 which had 182,770 from a friend in NC, who was the 2nd or third owner, it was cared for and had good service records, feel free to Carfax it, it spent time in TX, NC and now GA. It's a Southern truck. I delivered it to Steve's Off-Road the day after I bought it, so the conversion could began...

The 1HZ/H55F combo was bought from a MUD member, rutbeer. I personally went and picked this combo from him. It's was said to have around 55,000 miles, it's condition reflected this claim. Fired right up with no glow, ran smoothly. No leaks or drips anywhere. I converted the alternator, starter, and fuel cut to 12V using all Toyota Factory parts, and delivered it to Steve's Off-Road same day as the FJ62.

I have all the reciepts and records from the conversion, Steve and Jeremy took time to make it right and I ended up with an awesome truck that I could drive daily with no worries...

I'll try and update this description if I leave something out, here we go...

Are you interested in selling some of the 24v stuff?

If so can you give me a year and model that the engine came out of so I can check the EPC to make sure what parts interhange?

Thanks!

I'll edit my original post as well but as far as price,

Thanks for emailing all the pictures. They show the vehicle well.
Looks pretty straight and clean.
Engine looks like a nice install. The dynamat is a nice touch.
That engine crate is a piece in itself. That shows some care and concern for a nice piece of iron.

I replyed to your email.

Hey Ya'll ,

Thanks for all the positive feedback and interest. If you live in the South and drive a gasser you've probably been waiting in line somewhere to fill up your tank.

I have no trouble finding diesel anywhere I have travelled lately , have not waited in line either....

Mo pics for ya'll

Nice boats. Any deal on a boat/truck combo? You need a pic with all of them tied to the roof. I had 5 old-school Loooong 80's whitewater boats on top of my 60 once. Looked like I was ready for action, 1980's style.

Nice truck, wish I had the $.

Hey Ya'll,

Yup the 60/62 body style makes for a good Whitewater Assault Vehicle
those rain gutters are handy for all manner of rack setup. The boats are short
enough these days to fit inside the truck, real nice as far as cutting down on wind
noise/resistance and easy loading/unloading.

Tofudebeest, the running the 2H seems to be a wise choice, I know Engine Power Source in Charlotte, NC will rebuild them with a core, they may sell the rebuild kit as well. Georgia Forklift may too. As long as they runnin' in forklifts in the USA, lotsa engine parts should be easy to get. Hope your conversion is goin' well.

Thats why I went with a 1HZ, it's currently being manufactured and as long as I do the research( asking folks in Canada) for the part # , Cobb County Toyota or any Toyota dealer can order the part, I reckon because the 1HZ is being used in mine trucks in the US. I had no trouble ordering the Timing Belt, Oil Filters, or Injector Gaskets.

hmm.... LL boats..Southerner...you weren't at the giant slalom on the Green by any chance were you?
