Back in July I bought this FJ60 from the original owner with the intent of building it into a family trail rig. It seams I bit off more than I can chew.
This was the owners DD from when he drove it off the lot in 83 until 1999. In 1999 he parked it and was expecting his daughter to start driving it in the next yr or so. Well, she didn't like driving a standard so it just sat there under the tree line on the edge of there horse pasture.
It has the 2F I-6, 4spd. They said that everything worked perfectly when they parked it. It has AC and heat. No power windows or locks.
Exterior:
Along the pinch weld on the rockers. Surface rust
Above the rear wheel wells. Rusty, not all the way through, may need a little filler
Passenger floor board. Needs patch work
Rear roof. Needs patch or fill –I sanded and primed then - Can be seen in the pics
Small amounts of surface rust scattered on the body.
A couple dents
Paint faded and pealing.
Not as bad as I’ve seen. Just trying to tell you exactly what you’re looking at.
Engine:
Field mice had built a nest in the heat insulation on the underside of the hood and in the intake. They didn’t get past the air filter so there are no mice turds in the carb or manifold.
Can’t get the engine to turn over, Don’t have the correct size socket to get on the crack.
Removed the spark plugs and put ATF on top of the pistons.
Needs belts
Most of the hoses are dry rot.
Battery tray rusted out and two holes where is mounts. Have new tray
Trans:
4 spd
Don’t know the current condition of it or the clutch
Axles:
The front seals are leaking enough to keep them moist.
Interior:
Carpet it dirty and stained.
Drivers seat has a few rips but I have the OEM upholstery for it. The other seats are great.
I took out the carpet in the rear cargo area because it was soaked in oil or some kind of fluid.
Glass:
Front windshield has a couple nicks and one runner. Not big and doesn’t obstruct view.
I have a carb rebuild kit and a tune up kit for it.
I need this thing out of my driveway.
There will be no price drop. I’m asking $1K and that what I’ll take.
The black Tacoma wheels and tires do Not go with it.
