Hi all,

Replaced my front shocks today (Monroe OE Spectrum) and I was wondering something since no instructions were included with my kit. When I install them, I slid on a washer, then a bumper, then another washer, then attached it to the car, followed by another washer, another bumper (OEM), and the final washer, then the top bolt.

In hindsight, should I have had a washer, two bumpers, then another washer before the rest of the steps? I don't think it would have fit, but has anyone used these shocks?

Sorry, this may be an amateur or unanswerable question, I'm kind of new to all of this.

Jake, typically, that's the usual way.

Depends...

Were the bumpers really "squishy"? If so, you will need the washer on both sides of the mount itself. This is how Bilsteins are.

Fox Shox have really hard bumpers that dont require a washer... instead the dimple fits right in the factory mount, and you're good to go with a washer on top, followed by the nut.

Checked again today, I used the OEM top washers and bumper and it seemed fine, and I am definitely only able to fit one bumper below, with the two washers that came with the shocks. Everything fit fine this way.

I plan on using a Dremel to cut off the rear shock top bolts.
