I'm in the same boat. Front heater/defroster is luke warm and has little force even when the fan is on high.
Rear (passenger) heater is very hot and has a strong flow on low and high.
Do they run thru the same heater core? Just curious why the rear works so well and the front barely works.
It would be nice to have a strong defroster in the winter...

They have different cores and different fans, but share the coolant circuit. Most common low heat output is old/clogged/restricted cores. If it’s not blowing very hard, remove the (front)blower and check for debris. Reference the other suggestions in this thread for other low heat output causes.

In my case, upon initial warm up, the rear would blow hotter than the front. But if I loaded the engine(wheeling, heavy accel) the front heater would blow hot. This lead me the believe the hvac was operating ok, the front core was not flowing as it should. A water flush gave some improvement, for the work it took to flush it, I wish I had let CLR sit in there for a while... oh well, it’s never as hard the second time around...

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense now. I hear the access to the front heater core is a challenge.
