Looking for suggestions:

My front tires are rubbing on the front fender when I hit angles or larger holes when wheeling. I have 33's with 2.5" OME lift. The shackles that came with the kit are 3.5" bolt to bolt, and I tried out some 5" bolt to bolt shackles thie weekend. It was still hitting. I'm thinking about going 6" on the shackles and maybe a 1" or more body lift. Maybe a larger bump stop. I don't want to but the fenders out to make room, but that may be my only solution in the end. Anyone else run into this and what did you do to solve the rub? I'm tired of having to beat the inner lip of my fender back in place after each trip off road.

metal tech

metal tech makes some really cool fenders that will give you 2" more clearance but they are not a bolt on kit you have to do some welding. also maybe try a shackle reversal.

What are my choices for a reversal? The Downey kit looks nice but it's not cheap.

What tires are you running? Brand and width.
BFG tires are smaller than stated. Interco's are usually the same if not bigger than stated.
Any particulars about your rims? Do they have less backspace.
Where on the front fender do they hit?
Have the springs been flipped? If not it may help for now depending on where you hit the fenders.
You will definitely need shims if you flip them.
Is your truck sitting level now. Most shackle reversal kits will raise the front about 1.5".
I can't remember if 40 series OME springs come with the light, medium, heavy ratings.
If they do, which ones do you have?
What year is your cruiser? Any mods to the front axle?

I'm running BDG's 33x12X15's MT's. Rims are M/T classic locks with 3-5/8" backspacing. The tires are hitting the inner lip of the front fenders and pulling the lip down each time it hits. When they hit it makes an awfull noise and I back off the throttle to lessen the damage, but I'm sure it would really mess them up if I got into something where I could not back off and stop the carnage. Not sure about the flip. Front to back flip? Mine are one the correct way, so I might look at that. I have the OME medium springs, and the 40 sits a little lower in the front than rear. First I had to shim the passenger side to correct the side to side sag, now I got that hot rod look with the front end sagging. I want it to sit strainght and not hit the fenders eventualy. That's why I experimanted with the larger shackles this weekend, to adjust the front. It looked like it needed about another 1" in the front to be even with the back.

Hi All:

If you don't want to cut the fenders, consider moving 'em up an inch or two. The fenders mount to the frame, one can re-drill the mounting holes on the fender bracket to move the fenders upwards (like one would do after a body lift.)
