Hoping that you guys can give me some advice on my 2002 LC - I am in the process of taking the "soccer mom" look away from my LC.

Ironically, I had a distracted soccer mom take out my LC while it was parked and while its in the shop being repaired I figured why not start the transformation. First, running boards have been removed. Rear shocks were replaced as part of the repair with OEM shocks. I installed an Ironman front bumper (which looks killer). The front end is now sitting low, while rear end is up. What is the best way to raise the front end? I had not planned on a lift, yet.....After reading some of the posts it sounds like the torsion bars can be cranked up to level her out. Any advice is greatly appreciated....

Absolutely! The t-bar's can be adjusted to level out your rig. Just be sure to get it aligned after you do the mods.

Re: how to do it, just get something that can mark on metal, and mark where the bolts are aligned and then rotate the bolt exactly the same amount of times on both sides until you find happiness. It is a one banana job and should take all of about an hour to do (on the long side).

I wouldn't worry about the number of cranks. The left/right have slightly different spring rates. Crank count will get you close, but don't worry if they don't match when you're done.

Here's what I do:

- Measure center of hub to fender in the rear, each side.
- Subtract 1"
- Raise the front up to that new value by cranking the bars. Some people say to take the weight off the vehicle, but for minor changes I don't find that necessary. It's a 30mm socket.
- Drive. Re-measure. Re-adjust. When it stops changing after you drive it is set.

When you're done you'll have the vehicle as close to level as possible without inducing undesirable wander under power. If the left (driver's) side is a little (1/2") low that's normal for a LC/LX.

Keep in mind the buoyancy point will migrate as you continue to add weight.

While your stink bug stance is increased now due to the weight of the front bumper, remember that the vehicles have always had a forward rake. It's intentional to keep the vehicle's front from wandering at highway speeds. When you crank it up, make sure the distance in the front wheel well 1" lower than the rear.

The best course of action would definately be to just adjust your torsion bars slightly to get it back to a more reasonable height.

As stated above, do be aware that from the factory the 100 series came with a slight rake.

Also make sure you get an alignment after you adjust them to ensure everything is pointing straight and true.

Hope you enjoy the bar!

Cheers,
