I recently replaced upper ball joints and front shock bushings on my 03 LX. I now have a rather annoying squeaking noise coming from the drivers side. I have pulled the upper shock bushings apart and reoriented twice since initial install. The upper shock nut is probably tighter than it should be now. I cannot figure this out. It sounds like rubber rubbing on metal.

The lower ball joints probably need to be replaced as do all the control arm bushings.

Is it possible the squeak is due to stress now being applied to the lower ball joint since the upper is new. Maybe the control arm bushings? Or, is it likely the shock bushings are responsible?

Do you hear it when the suspension is cycling? If so, get a mechanic's stethoscope, lay under the truck, have someone lean on and off the fender and touch the bar of the stethoscope to various bits, you'll find it.

Mouse like squeak....or barn door creak? Generally speaking ball joints tend to creak while shock mounts tend to chirp / squeak.

Trunkmonkey is on point as usual. If you can recreate the noise while parked get under there, can probably just feel around and find the culprit even without a stethoscope.

I have only heard the noise while driving, but it sounds more like a creek than mouse squeak. Definately has a rubber/plastic sound rather than metal.

I wasn’t able to reproduce the same noise when jumping on the front bumper, but I get hear a similar...ish noise that I think is coming from a body mount. I tightened it up and will check the results tomorrow am.
