1982 FJ 60 . In the process of changing my u-joints . My front drive shaft u-joints are smaller than the rear u-joints . Everything I find on the web tells me they are the same size . Anyone ever run into this ? If so, where did you get the correct u-joints ?

Front drive shaft on early trucks has a double cardan, later ones do not. The double cardan joints are indeed smaller and they were never offered from Toyota. The double cardan itself was listed as an “assembly”. You can get the center ball from Cruiser Outfitters, but I have no idea on the u-joints. Search results on Mud we’re inconclusive so I took it to my local shop and they had no problem getting everything. $110 parts & labor, including dynamic balancing and checking runout.
