Hey,

I have had my first 00 lc for the last couple weeks and this afternoon I seem to be having my first issue.

When I click the unlock button on my fob the front two doors will not unlock or lock. The back doors and rear hatch lock and unlock like normal. The front passenger door will attempt to unlock but not lock.

I looked online and through the forums and can't really find anything similar. Has anyone had this issue before and how did you fix it?

I tried replacing the battery in the fob and replacing the fuses.

I'm really hoping this is something hung simple and I don't need two new actuators.

Thanks.

If you use the interior door lock switch will they lock and unlock? If they do not I would say the actuators are shot. I had to do my drivers door when I bought mine. Was not a bad job and cost around $10

Thanks for the reply. Yea the interior door lock switch won't work either. Guess I found my next project. Did you just buy the motors for the actuators or the whole actuators?

Buy motors. Check the FAQ section at the top of the 100 Series forum for a good read on the door locks.

I bought the Mabuchi motors off of Ebay. I did extensive reading on the subject and at the end I realized there are two different types of Mabuchi motors and until you pull yours out it is unknown which one you have. I didn't want to waste time so I ordered both types. The Mabuchi with the brass collar and the one without. My cruiser ended up using the one with the collars the FC-280PT-22125. The other one is the Mabuchi FC280PC.

Thanks for the info. I have read posts in the FAQ section all the way through. Going to order a set of both motors tonight.

Thanks again guys. I really appreciate your help.

Go ahead and get 6 (sold in pairs). Eventually, you will need them.

I had this issue with my drivers door as well as intermittent power window failur, it was three broken wires inside the wire conduit on the drivers door.
First the door lock stopped working, then the window a month or so later.

My 2000 had done this for 10 years, pretty sure it's not the door lock actuators as they works great 98% of the time and have the same force(just like our lexus) as they always have. Does it with clicker or in the truck, however only while in park (engine on or off)

But sometimes.... all the locks get funky, some lock, some dont, most often the driverside front. Over the years I have noticed it only does it on 75 deg + days, after the 100 has sit for a day or more, never happens in winter time (or when cooler). Once I drive it, they all go back to normal, issue won't show up again for weeks, months or a year.

The locks acts like the battery is low, but it not from the charging system, new batteries over the years, new alt....still happens at least a fee times every summer. But again...mostly if it's sat in the sun and heat for more than a few days (in summer I don't drive the 2000 much)

So....I live with it and it's just one of those things ;)

Dude, you have broken wires in the driver door wire harness. Sometimes they touch, sometimes they touch a little, sometimes they dont touch at all.
Open the conduit in the door jamb, I'll bet donuts thats your problem.
Electrical resistance increases with heat, you have like 2 strands of wire touching trying to send enough current to work the locks, truck sits in the sun, things heat up, resistance increases and not enough power gets through the two strands of wire to work the locks.
Truck cools off, less resistance, things work.

I will take a look, as what your saying makes since and figured it was a heat related gremlin

meant to say its the passenger side(and I think rear doors) lock that often give me grief, the driverside almost always works
