I am trading my '15 in for a '17 next week. I am not at the stage of full build, but hope to move my BFG a/t's over, and would like to go BP-51 front/OME rear....
Just can't decide if I want to go bumpers just yet....unless I saw one I loved....

I am pretty familiar with the ARB front bumper; looks a bit bulky for what I want in my mostly street rig....also, it was recently pointed out to me at the Overland expo east that the ARB lacks great recovery points and is hard to get to the winch to allow free spool....(correct me if I am wrong)

I had a superwinch Husky 10 on my d90, and really liked that winch; Does it fit in a ARB or TJM?

So is the T13 the current bumper for the 200? What about recovery points and winch access? I hear the TJM's are semi available now, with a waiting period

I heard slee will one day offer a bumper? any word on that?
I saw another thread on the portal that one of the bumper companies "one-offed" a bumper, but they need my car and they are a long ways away...but it did look "fitted" more than the a lot of the bumpers on the market...

I would appreciated any thoughts on front bumper selection....I do want to maintain factory sensors and front camera too....

Also, do I need to cut bumpers to fit the TJM? I recall hearing the ARB requires cutting of the plastic

I'm just about to go TJM T13...but if you are primarily street?
-I'm not sure I've seen a better looking front bumper than this one from VPR... -since you asked about options...

Thanks for the pic, I had seen that one; but didn't remember the name....
I struggle with how to build the truck; we have a 100 and a 200; I am not a spring chicken anymore and sold my d90 as I began to feel like a 40 y/o kid driving a lifted CJ...
So, I ideally want the performance, without extra bulk (if possible) I miss my winch as we have a farm that gets extremely muddy at times. I have had to pull out my tractor, and literally got my f350 stuck in the grass in the yard....

Some folks don't get the lift and bumper stuff; so I think that's my struggle; how to look somewhat professional if I drove up to the country club.... but that may just be something I have to get over....

I called VPR, seems like a nice guy there.....he said they were "heavy duty' as well.....
They have a rear bumper also, and have fitted them to the 2016s and do not require any cutting.
They said they can accomodate, park sensors, camera and headlight washer....

From your description, and if I were i your shoes...I think the ARB Sahara--without the front hoop--might be a great choice. I'll try to post a pic of one of Slee's shop trucks--an LX570. It looks super clean without the hoop...and if you color-matched the powder-coat, it would look very "professional" yet still support a stout winch.

I had a Sahara on my 100 WITH the hoop, but the hoop is more a style choice than added protection anyway, and the bumper looks good without it.

Ah... Here is the Sahara without hoop on Slee's:
...on the left of course.

Oh! -And he added a sweet line of LEDs! Very nice mod. Maybe you could talk him into doing one like that for you. :)

thanks markuson; that may be a great choice too.... I hadn't really considered that one. It has a stout but factory look

@Markuson beat me to the punch - the Sahara is on my short list for similar reasons, and Slee's 20" LED (IIRC) is also a nice, subtle, add-on.

Here's a profile shot of the Sahara:
A big thanks to Slee for the quality work they did this week - 2" OME lift, ARB Sahara front bar with Warn 9.5XP, 295 70R17 TG on 17" TRD wheels and a set of their sliders. The work was done as promised and on time.... quality is excellent and I would recommend them to anyone here.

Next work will include a roof rack, 10lb CO2 bottle, Rasta skid plates and maybe ARB rear lockers.

you guys adding recovery points for shackles on these bumpers?

Hello,
No recovery points on the TJMT13 - there are two Hi lift ports on the face. Other than those there's nothing I would try to hook to and pull or be pulled by for recovery (just utilize the OEM recovery points on the front of the frame). The winch access is not wide open but still accessible / cannot compare to an ARB as I've not had time to study one.

thanks; I just spoke with Slee; the lack of recovery points is a crash testing thing. They are not approved (or something like that)
They are a good ways out for the slee bumpers.....

I do like that one by VPR4x4 but like Markuson said in a different thread I wish it had the hoops up higher around the lights for more of a full brush guard look and function. I want to keep the limbs of the Pacific Northwest out of my headlights and wandering deer out of the radiator as much as possible. Plus I like the look of the higher hoops.

Are there any side by side pics of the tjm and the arb full sized bumpers?
Didn't really think about the deer strike protection. We certainly have our share of white tail on the side of the road
I wonder if they fit the 2017? I AMA Yee he mount hasn't changed but I wonder if the lights or fender line changes alter any fitment?

This is my question right now as well. I shot Slee a message about the ARB Summit bar yesterday. The lines and design are what I really like about that bar. It is specifically targeting the '16LC though and I'd really like to know if we can use it on earlier LC/LX's.

We have this option:

Top stainless loop comes with it, but doesn't have to be installed. We have a plug kit for the top of the bumper to fill those holes. They're $1100.00.

And also the classic black deluxe:

If the hoop is an "installation" rather than part of the welded fabrication, I would question the strength.

How much for shipping to Tacoma, Washington?
Will it work OK on a LX570? I don't know if the front fenders have a different shape / cut.

That's right, it's a visual addition. the other bumpers we offer have the tube welded but not stainless .

Exactly. If it's anything like the optional hoop on ARB's Sahara bar, it's not strong at all. That hoop is held on by just two bolts at the bottom. The leverage of a deer strike on the upper portion of the hoop would break it from the base like a toothpick. I liked the looks of the Sahara bar and it's similar hoop, but I'm getting a full bull bar this time around for that exact reason.
