I'm thinking about trussing the front axle on my FJ55 project. it will be heavy when loaded, and getting a little air is not beyond my sense of right or wrong.

I have a plan to reinforce the area between the perches and the ball, but not the long side between the perch and the differential. Anyone make or use something like this?

I know it is for a mini-truck, but I wonder if it will fit with some grinder "adjustment"? That way I have a starting point.

Any input will be appreciated.

You could probably make something out of 3/16" or 1/4" after making a few templates....

Do you have a plasma rig, or at least a torch?

I would make something...but that is just me.

Good luck!

I`m with Steve, make one.If your putting big meats on and plan on airing it out, then try and go all the way to the knuckle. My friend stopped at the radius arms on his `69 Bronco and broke the housing at said arm.
I bent a front axel at the bump stops because I bottomed out on them.
