I would first like to say thank you for this forum, it has been extremely helpful. Ok, 3 years ago I purchased a 94, 1FZFE with 300,000 miles. Currently has 360,000 w/ same engine (awesome). Working on the front axles. Have a mix of gear oil and grease, I figured it was time. The driver side spindle bushing rotates but the right side doesn't. Is it supposed to? If not can it be fixed without buying a new one? If not, what tools would be needed? What would be the repercussions of having the oil mix with the grease? First time experience, thanks for the help.

No, the brass bushing is not supposed to spin in the back of the spindle. It is a press fit, you'll have to get a new one. Before you reassemble, see of you can figure out how it got spun in the spindle. Usually this is caused by the Birfield being too tight, it siezes to the bushing and spins it out of the spindle. After you get the new bushing pressed in, do a test fit of the Birfield, it should be a smooth fit but spin freely. If not, you need to hone out the bushing a little with a brake hone.

Thanks KLF, I'll get working on that today. Also the dust seals internal rubber edges are cracked, is this a major issue? I'm pressed for time and have to have the vehicle finished by monday, then road trip. Can I get away with the cracked ones for a short time? I'm unable to get any parts here in time for my departure. Thanks
